There
are as many definitions of a "toy camera" as there are users of this style of camera. Common denominator - all these cameras are plastic, have poor adjustments and are equipped with a deplorable optics. Often they are made to look like more expensive cameras. A common ploy is to make them look like a single lens reflex with its prism hump. The Asaflex, below, is a good example.

To summarize, anything manufactured by Leica, Nikon, Olympus, Gun, Pentax or Minolta are not included in this category...

But do not trust appearances... Some of these cameras such as the Diana DeLuxe are true myths... This has an incredible impact on their commercial values which are sometimes, completely disproportionate to their capabilities.
