The Kodak Model B11 follows the same conception as the
model 21, except the fact all has been
inverted. It looks like if the B11 has been made only for left-handed.
| The top cover of the camera is in grey plastic and be located on
the left when taking a snapshot vertically. |
| In that position, the shutter release
is located on the bottom-left. Then, the best finger to release it is
the left thumb... |
In fact, the ergonomics of this camera is
acceptable when it is used horizontally.
It is equipped of a achromatic lens f:11. A central shutter is providing
one "instantaneous" speed and Pause B.
The original feature of this camera is to
support double format of film (6x9 and 6x6). In order to help the
framing when using the format 6x6, a sliding mask allows to blind a part
of the viewfinder.

The Kodak model B11 also has been assembled in France using US spare
parts in order to bypass the protectionist measures implemented by the
french government in the 50's. It will be one of the last folding
cameras made in that country.
I found this camera at the open market of Amiens (France) in October 2003.
It was swimming in a puddle (That's normal weather in
north of France anyway !) but its general condition was fine. I
bought it for
10 €. |
