Bakelite cameras
Since it appeared in the Harry Potter's movie Opus 2, the Argus C3 Matchmatic is now very famous and wanted. This induced an incredible increase of its collecting value, including in US were it was considered before that sudden craze as a very common camera.

This camera is a kind of Argus C3 with a two tones suit.

The only improvement compared with its predecessor it the selenium light meter which must be fixed onto its dedicated slot.

Caution ! this photoelectric cell is for the Matchmatic like the French Fries are for the Cheese Burger.Without it, a C3 Matchmatic is not a Matchmatic !

Regarding its technical characteristics, there are similar to the regular C3. The main one remains the selenium light meter. Obviously, the liaison lens / range meter is much more simple than onto the Kodak 35 Rangefinder.

A variant of the Matchmatic exists, the Golden Shield.

The lens is a Cintar f=3.5/50mm coupled with a shutter offering two speeds : Instantaneous and pose B.
The C3 Match-Matic has been produced to about 350.000 from 1958 to 1966. The model of my collection is a pre-60's version.
