This viewer is made of polished wood.
The body consists of a fixed portion that holds the glass stereo pictures and
a section that is moved in and out, by a toothed gear, to adjust focus.
The interocular distance is adjusted with a knurled roller and the separation,
in centimeters, is indicated on a brass scale by means of a pantograph operated
pointer.
The "Photo-Plait" catalogue of 1936 presents this viewer in a version with a
reflector.
The model shown here does not have this equipment and can, therefore, only view
glass plates.
With this reflector is was possible to direct the light towards the interior
of the box when viewing paper photographs.
