Expanding Cameras

Jules André Gabriel Bourdin, so named "Dubroni", became famous when patenting in 1864 the first photographic camera for "instant" developments: the
Dubroni N°1.

Later on, this great inventor, has designed several expanding cameras including this one for beginners and of a format of 9 x 13 cm.

This expanding camera is equipped with a lens but without diaphragm nor shutter. Exposition was made "on the fly", by removing and replacing the leather cap.

The focusing was made on the frosted glass located at the back of the camera, first by moving back and forth the back of the camera supporting the frosted glass, then by refining the focus by moving the lens along its tube..
